Long Term Plans...

Eventually I plan to distribute worthwhile varieties by seed. Just how or when this will occur has not yet been determined. Already I am seeing consistent behaviour in some of my hybrid lines. Several of these lines have already proven themselves rugged and reliable performers in the garden. Although these lines are already garden worthy, and appear able to survive for many years under garden conditions, I have not so far really considered ways they could be distributed. At first, I think I might just grow a few extra plants from cuttings for relatives and friends to try.

As expected, the F1 progeny from pure line parents are uniform. It would be possible to distribute F1 seed of that type, and be assured that it would perform as expected. Or, selected hybrid lines could be further refined through additional crosses and inbreeding. Eventually that should produce varieties that come true from seed. It remains to be seen how well an inbred line will perform. An F1 seed from inbred parents could also be developed.
